Bangladesh Institute of Peace Support Operation Training (BIPSOT) on behalf of the International Association of Peacekeeping Training Centres (IAPTC) as well as Peoples’ Republic of Bangladesh, the host for 2010 is pleased to extend warm invitation to you to attend the 16th IAPTC Annual Conference in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The Conference will provide a unique platform for those who work in the field of peacekeeping education, training and operations to come together and discuss relevant key issues. For effective and purposeful peacekeeping operations it is essential for all stakeholders to operate in partnership, sharing information and knowledge.
The theme of November 2010 Conference is 'Training for Peacekeeping Missions with Complex Mandates' and sub themes are ‘Mission Success through a Capability Development Approach to Training’ and ‘Protection of Civilians'.
Peacekeeping trainers and educators will be able to use this international forum to share experiences, avoid duplication of effort, promote best practices, and provide information for the countries that are yet to have their own Peacekeeping Training Centres. This conference, like the previous ones, will provide valuable information and networking opportunities that will allow centres to minimize duplication in their efforts and lead to further specialization and sharing of responsibilities.
